Project Description
Asymmetric catalysis and stereoselective synthesis
Development of novel tactics in metal-catalyzed reactions for selective functionalization and generation of structural complexity. Enantioselective synthesis of pyrrolidines and related heterocycles by catalytic asymmetric 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of azomethine ylides: access to new substitution patterns in nitrogen heterocycles. Metal-catalyzed stereoselective and regiodivergent functionalization of unsaturated systems, especially unbiased internal alkynes. Novel palladium-, copper-, rhodium- and cobalt-catalyzed C-H functionalization reactions of Csp2-H and Csp3-H bonds. Late functionalization of aminoacids, peptides and other biologically relevant compounds. Access to complex poliaromatic systems by novel cascade processes. Application of these procedures in the synthesis of relevant compounds, biological studies and ligand design for asymmetric catalysis.
